The Crossing is a multi-campus, non-denominational church with locations in Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa.
The vision of The Crossing
The Crossing exists to help people find an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Where we come from
The Crossing is an independent, non-denominational Christian Church started in Quincy, Illinois, in March of 1974. It began as a plant of Madison Park Christian Church, with 58 volunteers leaving to hold services at Monroe Elementary School under the name Payson Road Christian Church.
Today, we are one church with locations in Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa.
As a church and as individuals, we want to honor God by doing things His way. Clearly outlining what we believe as a church is done through our doctrine.
As a church, we are attempting to separate the non-essential beliefs from the essential beliefs.
The Crossing exists to minister in local communities, following our core values to bring people to an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The seven things we want to be known for.
We will do whatever it takes to reach people who are far from Jesus.
We will gladly give up the things we love for a future generation we love even more.
We will do fresh things in fresh ways to reach those no one else is reaching.
We will take big faith-filled risks and never insult God with small thinking and safe living.
We will develop leaders who honor God and inspire people and they will change the world.
We will never stop measuring, changing, and moving for growth because nothing matters more to God than people.
We Are One
The Church is the hope of the world and we can accomplish infinitely more together than apart.
