Faithful Every Step
I started attending the Crossing Pike County in 2013. At that time I was not a regular attender. I would go off and on, whenever the mood struck me. But in 2014 I decided to call the Crossing my home. I started going as often as I could. We had a sermon on tithing that got me to start tithing regularly. It was difficult because during that time I was working at a Mom and Pop shop trying to keep it going. So therefore my income was extremely low. I was making $400 a month. Not a week a month. So tithing was a real struggle for me. But the Pike County campus was very quickly out growing our location. So we were on the hunt for a new location. Then we found one! And the Crossing as a whole decided to do a one time triple tithe so that we could buy the new location outright. Now remember, I was making $400 a month and was only being paid once a month. So therefore my triple tithe was going to have to be $120 of that $400 for that month. I fretted over this and prayed over how this was going to work. I never told anyone what was going on and what I was about to do. But I fully trusted the Lord to take that money and reach as many lives as possible with the opening of the new location. So I did it! I tripled my tithe that one weekend and helped to open that new location. But this is where it gets good! The very next day, my boss came up to me and said that they had a good week and that she was giving me a bonus. Remember I never told anyone what was going on. This was between me and God only. She turned around that day and gave me back all but $20 of my triple tithe. I broke down in tears and explained what had just happened. After that day I have remained faithful with my tithe. While still at the old Pike County campus, I fully accepted Christ as my personal Lord and savior. I also watched one of my younger sisters be baptized there as well. But in the new campus location I have had the awesome opportunity to baptize my youngest sister, a co-worker going through recovery, and the best one so far, my sisters and I were able to baptize both our parents. I have seen many lives changed forever in those walls. Thanks to each and everyone of you that trusted the Lord and tripled your tithe that weekend. I am continually seeing the Lord moving and working in the hearts and souls of those who walk through those doors.
