Discussion Questions

Read Psalm 103.

Read Psalm 103:2-5. List and discuss the benefits of intimately knowing God Almighty. Talk about which one resounds with you and why.

Read Psalm 103:8-12. What do you need most right now? Compassion, grace, relief from someone’s anger, abounding love? Do you need accusations to stop, anger released, or to not get what you deserve?

David only uses God’s intimate, personal name, “LORD,” throughout this entire psalm.

Read Psalm 103:17-18. Our sin is forgiven because of His great love and our children are blessed. This is what happens when we fear (have complete awe and wonder of) the LORD who so loved us He sent His Son to die on the cross. How can knowing God intimately through the person of Jesus Christ change everything in our lives?

Pray

During your prayer time, make a list of all the specific reasons your group can praise God right now. This could include things mentioned in your Conversation Starter and might include answers to prayer, gratitude for the people gathered and the meal you ate, the hardships not suffered alone, or the fellowship you share. Make these into a prayer of praise to the LORD to end your time together.
