New Covenant

Life Group Leader Guide

This Leader Guide will help you lead the conversation with your Life Group when discussing this week’s sermon.

New Covenant

Key Things You Heard

  • The New Contract is written on our hearts.
  • The New Contract provides perfect forgiveness.
  • The New Contract is for all people.

Pray

Heavenly Father, We are so grateful that the New Covenant is for all people. And we are particularly thankful that this includes each of us. So let us revisit the great message of the gospel in our group and give us an increasing desire to see all people come to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Tweetable Moments

“You are given a divine compass to help you navigate not only the challenges of life but also your spiritual growth in Christ.”

“The indwelling of the Spirit is special and necessary.”

Questions for Conversation

Icebreaker: Tell about a time you got lost.

  • Read Jeremiah 31:33-34. This is a prophetic scripture looking toward the saving work of Jesus. What impact do you believe this would have had on the Jewish people when it was written? What impact does it have on you, and why?
  • The pull of the world is powerful. Give examples of things in the world that try to pull us away from living holy to the Lord. (Examples include; politics, culture, educational environments, and social media.) What are the inward desires that pull us away from the Lord? (Examples include; sex, power, and money.) What role does the Holy Spirit play in keeping us on the right path and taking the proper steps? What is our part? What are some things we do to make sure that we are doing what we need to do?
  • Read Acts 2:38-39. What are we told to do, and for what reason? What is the gift we receive? Who is the promise for? Tell about what these things mean in your life. (There may be people in your group that have not accepted Jesus and been baptized. This is a good time to ask about it.)

Now Go Do It

Challenge: Clayton mentioned in his sermon, “If the new covenant is for all people, there must be a place for all people to learn about, and begin an intimate personal relationship with his son, Jesus.” To not believe this is like going to the hospital and being disgusted with all the sick people. Who is it in your life that needs the Lord? Make a list of them, pray for them this week, and then invite them to come and sit with you at one of our services.
