Gospel

Key Things You Heard

  • More people see sharing the Gospel as the role of the church and not the believer.
  • “A personal experience is better than a professional explanation.”

Pray

Heavenly Father, help us tonight to learn how to share the good news of Jesus with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Tweetable Moments

“We have gone from wanting the ball to playing hot potato with the Gospel.”

Questions for Conversation

Icebreaker: Tell about a time when you were afraid to talk to someone but overcame that fear.

  • Clayton said, “A personal experience is better than a professional explanation.” This is so true. As a believer, Jesus has done amazing work in your life. The story of your experience of coming to Jesus is a bridge to share the Gospel. So, in this Life Group, we are going to do 3 things. We will write our story in a way that can be communicated in 3 minutes. We will decide how to share God’s story. And finally, we will practice together as a group.
  • Leader: Pass out index cards and the 2 Gospel graphics to each person.
  • Give each person a chance to write their testimony. It should include; How I lived and what my life was like before Jesus. (Don’t glorify Satan or sin. But give enough information for people to understand what God saved you from.) How Jesus found me. And how my life was changed by Jesus. Just use bullet points to remind you of what you want to say.
  • Choose one of the Gospel graphics to use to explain the Gospel.
  • At the end of your presentation, make the ask.
  • Leader: After everyone has finished the assignment, have everyone practice sharing your story and the Gospel. You go first.

Now Go Do It

Challenge: Make a list of people in your life who need to hear the Gospel. Start caring for them. Start praying for them. Share your story and the Gospel with them. Ask them for a decision.
